Lincolnshire’s Favourite Function Band
Hilary formed Ultra-sound over a period of four months in 2006 by contacting local musicians she had previously played beside in Lincolnshire bands and by advertising and searching on musician Websites. She decided to form the band after many years of playing for other people and finding something was “missing”.
“I knew the direction I wanted my band to go in and the sound I was looking for. I also have a couple of important criteria for the band members - they need to be confident, capable musicians but, and the guys will all confirm this, I stress they are allowed to enjoy it and let the audience know! I cannot abide bands who look miserable....Utra-sound certainly do not let me down!” (Hilary 2009).
In the beginning....
In the beginning the band was understandably very ropey over the first formation year and there was never a dull moment. After many months of continuously trying to find the right players for Ultra-sound they have finally succeeded and are sure anyone who listens to them and watches them “live” will agree.
Achievements and Performances
To date Ultra-sound have been invited to play at many various events such as concerts, competitions, dinner-dances, jazz festivals and the Waddington Air Show. The most recent event being a charity night at Woodland Waters, Ancaster where the band promoted the gig to raise money for the Lincolnshire Air Ambulance. This proved an extremely popular event and was another successful charity fundraiser organised by the band.
Talented, Professional and Fun!
The Ultra-sound Function band is not just a group of incredibly talented musicians, but also a team of people who enjoy being in the band together, have fun, look lively and are professionally pleasing to the eye as well as the ear. They produce a great versatility of sound to either tap your foot to while you eat your dinner or get up and boogie until the early hours which make them a perfect choice for any function.
